The Restek Raptor™ Biphenyl 90 Å HPLC column series combines an advanced biphenyl stationary phase with Restek's 2.7 µm superficially porous (core-shell) particle technology to deliver exceptional chromatographic efficiency, outstanding peak shape, and unique selectivity for aromatic compounds. Designed for both conventional HPLC and UHPLC systems, these columns provide fast, highly reproducible separations while maintaining moderate operating backpressure.

Unlike traditional C18 stationary phases that rely primarily on hydrophobic interactions, the Raptor Biphenyl phase utilizes additional π-π interactions, dipole interactions, and steric (shape) selectivity. These complementary retention mechanisms significantly enhance the separation of structurally similar compounds, positional isomers, and conjugated aromatic molecules that are often difficult to resolve using conventional reversed-phase chromatography.
