Sustainable Packaging – Less is More
Introduction
In 2024, we thoroughly reviewed and systematically optimized our packaging processes with a clear focus on environmental responsibility. Our goal: to minimize environmental impact throughout the supply chain while maximizing the recyclability of our packaging materials.
Recyclable, CO₂-reduced, and Resource-Conscious
We prioritize packaging made from recyclable and CO₂-reduced materials, as well as mono-materials that are particularly easy to recycle. For example, we now use paper padding instead of plastic chips to improve material separation and significantly reduce material usage.
Sustainability in Every Detail
Wherever possible, package inserts, labels, and transport protection are made from eco-friendly materials that require fewer raw materials and offer improved disposability.
Less Volume, Greater Impact
We consciously avoid unnecessary packaging elements and reduce overall packaging volume. This not only decreases waste, but also improves transport efficiency—contributing to a reduction in our Scope 3 emissions across the supply and disposal chain.
Our Mission
Our commitment to sustainable packaging is part of a broader environmental approach—one that combines ecological responsibility with practical solutions. Sustainability that delivers—both to our customers and to the environment.
EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)
The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), Regulation (EU) 2025/40, establishes comprehensive requirements for packaging and packaging waste throughout the European Union. Its objective is to reduce the environmental impact of packaging, promote a circular economy and ensure a more sustainable use of resources.
The PPWR introduces requirements covering key areas such as packaging recyclability, packaging waste prevention and minimization, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), and harmonized labelling and information requirements. Companies are increasingly required to consider the entire lifecycle of their packaging and to design packaging in a way that supports recycling while reducing unnecessary material use, weight and volume.
The regulation applies to all packaging, regardless of the material used, including packaging made from plastics, paper and cardboard, metals, glass, wood and other materials. This creates a common European framework aimed at improving packaging sustainability, increasing recyclability and reducing packaging waste across the EU.
PPWR Compliance for Our Transport Packaging and Overpack
We are committed to responsible packaging practices and to meeting the applicable requirements of Regulation (EU) 2025/40.
Below, you can find the PPWR Declarations of Conformity for the transport packaging used by our company. The corresponding PDF documents are available for download and provide relevant information regarding compliance with the applicable PPWR requirements.
