Agilent Polaris HPLC columns provide polar-modified reversed-phase chemistries for the separation of mixtures containing polar and nonpolar analytes. The combination of high phase density, ultrapure silica and silanol shielding is designed to provide reliable retention and suitable peak shapes, particularly for highly polar compounds and separations performed under highly aqueous mobile phase conditions.

The polar-embedded C18 and C8 stationary phases are compatible with 100% aqueous mobile phases and provide alternative selectivities to conventional C18 and C8 phases while maintaining USP L1 and USP L7 classifications. Their bonded-phase chemistry and silica pore structure are designed to maintain wettability and chromatographic retention at low organic solvent concentrations.The combination of high carbon load, high phase-density bonding, ultrapure silica and silanol shielding supports the analysis of polar samples under aqueous reversed-phase conditions.
